In Creative mode, no experience levels are necessary for enchantments. Note that a higher experience cost for a specific slot does not necessarily mean that the enchantments from that slot are better than others with lower costs. The top, middle, and bottom slot enchantment levels can be calculated using the following formulas: * Top slot enchantment level = ⌊max(base/3, 1)⌋ * Middle slot enchantment level = ⌊(base × 2)/3 + 1⌋ * Bottom slot enchantment level = ⌊max(base, base × 2)⌋ These values are then modified based on the slot position and the number of nearby bookshelves (capped at 15). The enchantment level is dependent on the number of nearby bookshelves and which slot position it occupies. The base enchantment level available can be calculated using the following formula: base enchantment level = randomInt(1, 8) + ⌊b/2⌋ + randomInt(0, b) Whenever a player places an eligible item on the enchanting table, the enchantment levels available for each slot are randomly generated using this formula. Note: ⌊x⌋ represents the floor function, which returns the largest integer less than or equal to x.
